From Venice we decided to head to France. Initially we thought we would go via Switzerland but given how late it was in the day by the time we neared the alps we decided to not. The alps on the Italian side were fantastic, although it was cloudy and often raining, the views were gorgeous.
Blasting the misty mountains song from the hobbit movie as we wound around misty hills and waterfalls made things much more exciting.
We crossed the border taking a long tunnel beneath mont Blanc.
We then sat up camp late in the afternoon by the lake in Anncey.
