roussillon

Our first provence town of note was roussillon , a beautiful town renown for its ochre colour. The quarries were stunning in colour and we had a beautiful view on our way up to the town.

The town itself was also coloured in interesting hues.

There were lots of art galleries and shops, the artists painting with the ochre and also local lavender.

This old garage door was one of my favourite things in the town, so random but so beautifully painted.

This little shop had some interesting and odd things. Ochre coloured globes and real lavender in paintings.

We wandered the narrow alleys and quiet streets.

The view from above the town.
