The Last Port of Call

November 2019

I touched down in London and was met by Ben who had taken the train up from Bristol. We then headed to Cambridge together, to visit my brother before we took our international flight from London.

I love visiting Cambridge, it never fails to impress. It was also Ben's first time visiting, so it was fun to do all the touristy things again.

Which included a dinner in the fancy university hall of course! This was one of my favourite things to do with my brother.

It was late November by now, and Cambridge was gearing up for Christmas, decked out in decorations and lights everywhere. It made it even more magical, and it felt so strange to realise we would soon be heading into summer, whereas here it was so icy cold.

All too soon we were bidding our goodbyes, and taking the plane from London to Singapore. After thinking we would miss our connecting flight and sprinting through multiple terminals, it ended up slightly delayed, and we made it after all.
Landing back in New Zealand was beyond surreal after so long away, but here we were.
