A Trip to York

 January 2019

We had wanted to break up the trip back from Stirling to London, so we stopped off for a night in York. The others would be spending another night here, whilst Ben and I made our way to my family's flat in Camden town. Our friends had an airbnb booked in London for the night after, so we would meet up with them one more time, before they all flew back to the US.

We had all been to York before, so it was more a pleasant interlude than the busy touristing we had been doing in Stirling. It felt nice to simply wander a beautiful old town, with no particular place in mind.
We arrived in the late afternoon, and Ben and I were headed off in the morning, so we took advantage of the twilight to enjoy York as much as possible.
Dinner (and lunch the next day because we went back for more, it was that good) deserves a special mention. Humpit, delicious pitas stuffed with falafel and vegetables and sauces, is ridiculously delicious (and I still dream of it).

The next morning, the others were up and off to explore, but as our train was in a few hours, we bid our farewells knowing we would catch them in a day or so in London.
First stop, back to Humpit to pick up another order to go, knowing we would devour it on the train back to London.
It was cold and we had already wandered the town the night before, so we ended up popping into an adorable tucked away cafe for hot chocolate and board games, to pass the time until our train. It was one of those places I would probably never be able to find again, stumbled on by chance.
